MLA dedicates four ambulances to primary health centres in Pahalgam
Srinagar: National Conference MLA Altaf Ahmad Kaloo on Monday dedicated four ambulances to primary health centres in Pahalgam constituency, a week ahead of the first anniversary of the deadly terror attack there that killed 26 people.
Kaloo said he sanctioned Rs 1 crore to procure ambulances as the famous tourist spot did not have enough ambulances when the deadly attack took place.
On April 22 last year, three armed Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives opened fire at tourists at Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam tourist resort, killing 26 people and injuring scores of others.
“When the unfortunate incident took place, ambulances had to be brought in from other places in Kashmir. This is a tourist place, and it is also the main starting point for the Amarnath Yatra. So I sanctioned one ambulance for each primary health centre in Pahalgam from my constituency development fund,” Kaloo told reporters.
