Srinagar, Mar 20: Police in Baramulla solved a theft case of a mobile shop in Kunzar area of Baramulla and arrested the accused from Delhi, a police spokesman said Friday.

He said that on 9th of March police received a complaint from Bilal Ahmad Bhat resident of Darhama stating that during the night of 07/08 March 2026, unknown persons stole about 20 mobile phones, one laptop and 5,000 cash from his shop at Mohamadia Complex, Kunzar.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 26/2026 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kunzar and investigation was initiated.

During the course of the investigation, police teams analyzed CCTV footage and other technical evidence, which led to the identification of the accused, Rahil Ahmad Reshi, a resident of Gonipora, Chanpora, Kunzar. A police team was sent to Delhi where the accused was arrested. During his arrest, 13 stolen mobile phones and one laptop were recovered from his possession.

Further investigation is underway to recover the remaining stolen property, the spokesman added.
