Police arrest drug peddler in Pulwama
Srinagar: Police in Pulwama arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas-like substance during naka checking in Litter area, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Rakh Litter and checking pedestrians and vehicles. During checking, a person carrying a polythene bag was seen approaching from Litter towards Rakh Litter.
On noticing the police party, the person attempted to flee from the spot, however, the police team acted swiftly and apprehended the individual. During search, substantial quantity of charas-like substance was recovered. He has been identified as Nawaz Ahmad Khan son of Gull Mohammad Khan resident of Wachi, Shopian.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 29/2026 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Litter and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
