Police seizes two tractors in Ganderbal for illegal mining
Stinagar: Police in Ganderbal seized two tractors carrying illegally extracted construction minerals, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
The vehicles were intercepted by police team during routine patrolling and checking. Upon inspection, the vehicles were found transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed norms. Accordingly, both vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law, the spokesman added.
