Police arrests drug peddler in Ganderbal
Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in Gund area of the district, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a surprise naka was laid by Police at Syed Basti Surfraw as part of routine surveillance and anti-narcotics measures. During the checking, one youth coming from Syed Basti Surfraw was intercepted in a suspicious manner. During search, Charas-like Contraband Substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Bokda son of Sooba Bokda resident of Syed Basti Surfraw. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, the spokesman added.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 04/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Gund and further investigation has been taken up, he added.
