Bat manufacturing hub has no play ground for kids

Anantnag: Despite being hub of bat industry, Sangam belt in Anantnag district lacks any sports infrastructure that could have provided some relief to the local kids.
Locals from the area said that despite the area being the hub of bad industry, it has no sports ground due to which youth of the area are facing many problems.
Shakeel Ahmad, a local resident said that there is a small ground near Sangam bridge lying in dilapidated conditions which needs to be repaired.
He said that on his he managed some money from local youth and repaired part and the local youth are using this space for recreational activity.
Feroz Ahmad, another youth of the area said that local teenagers have either became drug addicts or are spending whole day in playing games like PUBG, FreeFire and others on their smart phones.
He added that the land lying barren near police station Sangam should be converted into a mini sports stadium so that local youth can be engaged in sports activities to boost their immunity and keep them away from drug addiction.
Locals requested Lt Governor, Divisional commissioner Kashmir, Director youth Services and sports and DDC Anantnag to look into the matter and convert the barren land into a mini sports stadium so that the young generation is kept free from drugs and other time wasting exercises.
