Sopore woman succumbs to burn injuries
Sopore: A woman who sustained severe burn injuries at her residence in Sopore on Tuesday succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday at Srinagar’s SMHS hospital.
Pertinently, the woman had allegedly set herself ablaze at her home in Naseerabad area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Officials said that a woman allegedly set herself ablaze by pouring kerosene oil over her body. They said her husband reportedly managed to douse the fire but both received severe burn injuries.
She along with her husband was rushed to SDH Sopore where from they were referred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at SMHS hospital in Srinagar where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Sopore, Azim Khan confirmed that the woman has succumbed to her injuries at SMHS hospital and the investigation is on to ascertain as to why the victim had taken this extreme step, SHO said, adding that a case has been registered in Police Station Sopore.
