Encounter in Kulgam, 2 militants killed, 3 army men injured
Srinagar, July 17: Two militants are believed to be killed in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning. The encounter also left three army men injured.
Officials said that two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Nagnad Chimmer area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources said that three army soldiers were also injured in the gunfight, one among them is said to be critically injured. They have been shifted to Army’s 92 Base hospital in Srinagar.
Pertinently, 132 militants have been killed so far in the valley this year.
Earlier, according to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s 09 RR and of CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Nagnad Chimmer.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter. (GNS)
