22-year old youth drowns in Doda
Srinagar: A 22-year-old youth drowned in a stream in Doda district of Jammu division on Saturday evening.
Reports said that the youth identified as Waris Ahmad son of Sajid Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Bun village had gone to take a bath in a fast flowing stream. As soon as he went into the stream he slipped and drowned.
Soon after the news spread, the locals assembled at the spot while a team from the police and local administration immediately started a rescue operation to retrieve the body, reports said.
Meanwhile, confirming the incident, SHO Doda Munir Khan said that a rescue team from police alongside NDRF is on job to retrieve the body from the stream. (GNS)
