COVID-19 contact person flees from red zone

Vigil intensified in Pulwama villages bordering adjoining districts

PULWAMA: After a Covid 19 contact person fled from the Red Zone declared village of Shopian district to a nearby bordering village of Pulwama, authorities in both the district intensified vigil to nab the person.
On receiving the complaint, the District Administration immediately deputed a surveillance team to the place to trace all 16 probable suspects who have got in contact with the contact from Shopain. All these persons have been quarantined in Lyceum International School, an official spokesman said.
He said that an FIR has been lodged against the person who fled from the red zone area of district Shopian under section 269 IPC( unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infection of any dangerous disease to life) , section 270 IPC (malignant act likely to spread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC ( for disobeying any Government orders).
Senior Officer from the Administration said that strict vigil is being maintained on the public movement in the areas bordering Shopain, Anantnag, Srinagar and Budgam in which numerous villages have been declared Red Zones.
He added that major roads connecting these districts are on a regular guard and movement is being constricted.
The villages including Hall ,Tukan , Lassipora and Keller bordering Shopain,Tujan, Kamraziapora,Chewa Kalan ,Gusoo and Sarai bordering Budgam, N.B pora and chersoo bordering Anantnag and Sempora, Pampore, Kandizal and Kadalbal bordering Srinagar have been put on alert to restrict movement from these districts.
He further said that strict vigil is being maintained on the public movement in the areas bordering Shopain in which numerous villages Heerpora, Beminpora, Meemendar , Palpora, Sindishirmal, Kanipora, Sedow and Kanidajan, Palar, Batpora respectively have been declared Red Zones.
He appealed people to be vigilant and report to authorities any instance of violation of lockdown orders. He said that no Inter district movement is being allowed except in case of medical emergency. He appealed community leaders to generate sensitisation and consciousness in this regard among the people.
The Seven Red Zone Villages of Pulwama which include Khaigam, Sangerwani, Abhama of Tehsil Rajpora and Gudoora, Chandgam, Pinglena and Parigam of Tehsil Pulwama are under strict restrictions and people have been advised to abide by the orders as any violation shall invoke section 269 IPC( unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infection of any dangerous disease to life) , section 270 IPC ( malignant act likely to spread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC ( for disobeying the Government orders) .
