Gunfight breaks out in Kulgam village
Srinagar, Apr 11: A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Nadimarg area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
Reports said that on a specific input a team of Kulgam Police along with 9RR of army launched a cordon and search operation in Nadigram. As the joint team of forces tightened the cordon over the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between two sides.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped. Till this report was being filed, the exchange of firing was going on. (GNS)
