DAK dispatches PPE’s to Medical staff in various districts
Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Monday dispatched about 150 pieces of PVC material made Coverall Suits along with protective glass goggles to district Baramullah, Kupwara, Bandipora, Budgam and Anantnag in 1st phase.
In the 2nd phase DAK will cover District Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Srinagar and Ganderbal and subsequently in 3rd phase augmentation of already donated suits will be done depending on availability of raw material, a spokesman of the medico body said.
Pertinently, each suit has been manufactured locally after discussing the design and other logistical issues with the manufacturers. These suits are water resistant, non-breathable, washable and sterilizable.
“To start with we have ordered about 400 PVC coverall suits and are donating them free of cost to our doctors. Initially we are focusing on the high risk areas like hospitals where quarantine/isolation/sampling and FLU OPDs for suspects of COVID-19 have been setup,” the spokesman added.
President DAK, Dr Suhail Naik thanked the collective efforts which are being put by its members to fight COVID-19 and appreciated the unprecedented hard work being done by its General Secretary, Dr Owais H Dar who has personally monitored this overall process from designing to its distribution.
Dr Naik personally thanked the Veterinary Doctors Association (BVSC Association) for their generous donation towards the procurement of these items. Their contribution will be remembered for times to come.
