Expresses grief over the death of 3 family members in Khanyar
Srinagar: National Conference on Saturday expressed sorrow over the incident of conflagration that has consumed eight residential houses at Chimmer Noorabad area of Kulgam district.
A statement issued to KNS, While expressing grief over the losses to people Member of Parliament Hasnain Masoodi said, “it is heart wrenching to hear how the fire that broke out from a single house consumed seven other in its vicinity. It
reveals the poor state of disaster management in the remote hamlets of Kashmir. I appreciate the efforts of locals who helped in dousing the flames and stopped the fire from spreading to other areas of the locality, the statement issued to KNS said
I express my unison with the affected families. The local administration should swing into action and ascertain the losses incurred by people, who should be given adequate recompense to stand back on their feet again. Meantime a survey should immediately be conducted to evaluate the exact necessity of fire services and disaster management facilities in the far flung areas of Kashmir.”
Meanwhile Party’s spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar has also expressed sorrow over the losses. He has sought immediate recompense to the affected families. He impressed upon the district administration to ensure that the affected families don’t have to undergo any predicament in the ensuing rainy months.
Meanwhile Party spokesperson also expressed deep sorrow over the conflagration incident that consumed precious lives of a couple and their three year old daughter in the Khanyar locality of Srinagar.
The party decried the non availability of required men and machinery to cater to such situations. The party has also urged the administration to enhance the safety and community awareness about dealing with such eventualities in the thickly populated localities of old city of Srinagar (KNS).
