Sopore: A meeting of Press Club, Sopore was held on Friday to commemorate the first death anniversary of journalist Shujaat Bukhari who.
Bukhari along with two security guards was assassinated on June 14 last year at Press Enclave Srinagar.
Members of Press Club Sopore including Ghulam Hassan Wani, Syed Fayaz, Feroz Ahmad, Muzaffar Ahmad, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, Humayun Malik, Bilal Ahmad, Rahi Mohiudin and Muhammad Younis remembered the contributions of late Bukhari, who encouraged and guided young aspiring journalists.
Bukhari, they said, carved the institution of media in Kashmir.
Besides paying rich tributes to late Bukhari, special prayers were held for peace to the departed soul.
