Three-year old’s rape: Sikh body calls incident ‘heinous’, demands exemplary punishment to culprit
Srinagar. Calling the rape of a three year old girl in Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district girl a heinous crime the All Party Sikh coordination Committee (APSCC) Tuesday demanded exemplary punishment to the culprit.
APSCC Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said the case was fit to be registered under POCSO (Protection of children from sexual offences) Act of J&K.
Raina expected a swift action by the state government on fasts track basis so that in future no body repeats such heinous crime.
“Kashmir valley is known as a safe place for females and such incident will not be tolerated by the people living in the valley,” he added. The APSCC termed the incident as a shocking and an inhuman act.
“The victim is the daughter of every Kashmiri. We feel ashamed after hearing this crime and want justice to the family,” the APSCC said.
“We express solidarity with the family of the girl and urge society to raise strong voice against this crime committed against a small baby of three years'” it added.
