Rawalpora shuts to demand probe into mysterious death of 2nd year student
Srinagar: A shutdown is being observed in Rawalpora area of Srinagar following the death of 2nd year student under mysterious circumstances in the area.
His body was recovered from Astanapora area of Rawalapora in Srinagar district on Sunday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said that the area is observing a shutdown urging the government to thoroughly probe the circumstances that lead to the death of Umar Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat.
He was studying in 2nd year at Amar Singh College in Srinagar, locals said.
All the shops and business establishments in the area are closed, they added.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations initiated in this regard,” Police said
