JeM militant killed in Pampore shootout: Police
Srinagar: Police ok Sunday claimed to have killed a militant in a brief shoot at Khrew area in Pampore of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
” A JeM militant was killed in a brief exchange of fire at Khrew, Pampore” police said in a tweet.
The body has been recovered along with arms and ammunition.
A police spokesman said that on specific inputs a search operation was conducted in the area.
As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the militant. The fire was retaliated leading to a brief exchange of gunfire.
Consequently one militant was killed in the exchange of fire, the spokesman said.
Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition AK 47 Rifle and Magazines were recovered from the killed militant. From the incriminating material recovered, it is learnt that the killed militant is a Pakistani codenamed as Waseem. He was affiliated militants outfit JeM.
Police has registered a case in this regard and area is being searched, the spokesman added.
