Gunfight rages in old city area of Srinagar
Srinagar: A gunfight rages in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar district early Wednesday morning between militants and government forces.
Reports said that a joint team of Police and CRPF on specific information about presence of some militants cordoned off Fateh Kadal.
As soon as government forces zeroed on to the suspected house, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
As per sources two militants are believed to be trapped.
Till this report was filed intermittent exchange firing was going on.
Pertinently, two National Conference workers were killed in the area last week (GNS)
