Market checking intensified

Sopore: Market checking was Tuesday conducted at various locations in Sopore town by a team of officials led by Tehsildar Sopore Abrar Ahmad, Tax collector Municipal Council Sopore Manzoor Ahmed and Food Inspector besides the ARTO Baramulla.

“The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep a vigil on erring traders,” officials said.

They said that during the inspection, the team collected the fine of Rs 800 from various shopkeepers found violating the legal regulations and also urged upon the people to avoid the use of polythene so that the pollution in the area can be minimized.

Meanwhile, ARTO Baramulla seized three vehicles plying without proper documents.

Besides, 16 vehicles were challaned which were found violating the norms especially wrong parking on roads.
