At least 16 people were injured when four terrorists entered the hostel of the Agricultural Directorate in Peshawar on Friday morning, DawnNews reported.

According to police officials present at the site of the attack, at least four terrorists were killed as security forces launched a rescue operation. However, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has only confirmed that one terrorist has been killed.

A clearance operation is now underway.

The attack began as firing broke out at the directorate early on Friday morning when at least three burqa-clad suspects entered the building.

The hostel of the directorate was officially closed today as the country celebrates Eid Miladun Nabi. Around eight to 10 people were evacuated by security officials.

The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
