LG directs for immediate relief after landslide, cloudburst in Doda
Jammu, July 7: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed the District Administration to provide immediate relief and assistance to families affected by a massive landslide and cloudburst in Doda district.
In a post on the official X handle, the LG said he has spoken with the Deputy Commissioner, Doda to assess the situation following the cloudburst in the Thathri region.
“Several houses and shops have suffered damage, fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported,” the LG posted.
He said he has directed the DC to ensure immediate relief and assistance to the affected families and to expedite restoration work, including the clearance of NH-244.
The administration is currently assessing the damage caused to property and vehicles in the affected areas, while restoration efforts are underway.
