Illegal Extraction of Minerals: Police seized three vehicles, arrests three persons in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police intercepted and seized three vehicles and arrested three persons (Drivers) involved in the transportation of illegally extracted minerals, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party intercepted and seized three vehicles (02 Tractors & 01 Dumper) involved in the transportation of illegally extracted minerals at Kulgam. Upon inspection, the said vehicles were found to be carrying illegally extracted minerals in violation of relevant laws. All three vehicles were seized and the drivers were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, cases vide FIR No. 65 & 68/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered at police station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up to ascertain further involvement and identify other persons engaged in such unlawful activities in both cases, the spokesman added.
