Dear Sir,
Regulate fake paneer fraud
Analogue paneer is essentially a lookalike food designed to save money at the expense of good health. While real paneer is made strictly from milk this fake version is a processed blend of cheap vegetable fats, palm oil, starches and stabilizers.
It is engineered to mimic the soft texture of dairy but it lacks the vital proteins and vitamins that make paneer a staple for vegetarians. Because it costs only ₹150 per kg less than half the price of the real thing it has flooded the restaurant and catering industry where consumers rarely see the ingredients or packaging.
The danger lies in the lack of regulation and nutritional value. Analogue increases the risk of heart disease and metabolic issues. Since these products are often sold loose in unorganized markets there is no way to verify the quality of the chemicals or oils used, so therefore regime should regulate.
