Police solves timber theft case in Pulwama, two held

Srinagar: Police achieved a significant success by solving a theft case reported in Police Station Litter and arresting two accused persons involved in the crime, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that police received a complaint from Wood Venture regarding theft of poplar logs. Acting promptly on the complaint, a case FIR No. 41/2026 under section 303(2) BNS was registered and investigation was taken up.
During the course of investigation, police identified and arrested two accused persons identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Gorsee son of Mohammad Lateef Gorsee and Ishfaq Ahmad Gorsee son of Mohammad Abdullah Gorsee both residents Nagbal Yousmarg Budgam.
On their disclosure, stolen poplar logs worth thousands of rupees were recovered and seized. A goods carrier vehicle bearing registration number JK18D-2556, used in the commission of crime, was also seized. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the involvement of other persons in the case, the spokesman added.
