Fencing of three Srinagar bridges to be completed within a week: DC Srinagar
Srinagar, Apr 10: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Friday said the fencing of three bridges in Sher-e-Khass is nearing completion and will be finished within a week.
The DC identified the bridges as Ali Qadal, Zain Qadal Old, and Zain Qadal New, stating that the decision to install safety barriers followed persistent public demand.
“People came to meet us in our office. After that, we did a spot assessment with our concerned departments and in a very short time, the required fencing is almost nearing completion. In the next one week, all this work will be completed,” DC Srinagar told reporters.
He emphasised that public safety remains a top priority for the administration, adding that the fencing would provide convenience and security to pedestrians using these bridges.
The Deputy Commissioner also informed that coordinated action has been taken on key road repair projects in Sher-e-Khass including areas like Bulbul Anchar.
“That work is also underway. In this financial year, all important work of city will be taken up as per rules and people will be provided with facilities,” he added. (KNS)
