Programme on drug abuse held at Town Hall Bandipora
Srinagar: An important IEC programme on drug abuse was held at Town Hall Bandipora to address the growing threat of substance addiction that is silently consuming the youth and shaking the moral strength of society.
The gathering reflected serious concern over a crisis that has begun to damage families, destroy futures, and weaken the social fabric of the community.
Officials, experts, and employees assembled with a clear understanding that drug abuse has become a painful reality that demands strong collective action and responsible leadership.
During the programme, powerful and deeply concerning lectures were delivered by Dr. Umiesa and Dr. Aftab Jan. They spoke with clarity about the brutal consequences of drug addiction on human health and social stability.
They explained that drugs slowly attack the brain, weaken the body, destroy judgment, and trap individuals in a painful cycle of dependency. A young person who once carried dreams, energy, and hope often becomes a victim of isolation, mental collapse, and social rejection.
The speakers stressed that this crisis must be confronted with courage, responsibility, and constant vigilance from parents, teachers, and society. They reminded the audience that saving a single young life from addiction is equal to protecting an entire family from years of suffering.
The programme was coordinated by Municipal Council Bandipora Inspector Hilal Ahmad Reshi, whose efforts played a vital role in organizing the event and bringing together concerned stakeholders.
