Police arrests three gamblers in Awantipora
Srinagar: Police in Awantipora Tral arrested three gamblers and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Tral, a police party raided the specific spot and arrested the three gamblers. They have been identified as Jalal-ud-Din Sheikh son of Abdul Ahad resident of Nowdal Tral, Mohammad Yousuf Shah son of Mohammad Akram Shah resident of Takiya Gulab Bagh and Imtiyaz Ahmad Mohand son of Mohammad Akram Mohand resident of Shair Abad Tral.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹11,450/- and playing cards from their possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 31/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Tral further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
