Police files charge sheet in fake government job fraud case in Awantipora
Srinagar: Police in Awantipora filed a charge sheet in FIR No. 09/2026 under Sections 318(4), 61(2), and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) before the Court of the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Awantipora, in a case pertaining to cheating and fraud on the false pretext of providing a government job, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that the accused persons have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar @ Mom Dar, resident of Panzgam and Aijaz Ahmad Shah, son of Ali Mohammad Shah, resident of Tral Payeen.
During investigation, it was established that the accused induced the complainant to part with ₹7,00,000/- by falsely assuring appointment in a government department. The investigation, supported by bank transaction records and documentary evidence etc, has substantiated the involvement of the accused persons.
The case was investigated in a professional manner and concluded on the basis of material evidence, the spokesman added.
