Youth are bearers of harmony, not spectators: LG at Sikh League opener
JAMMU, Feb 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said the new generation is advancing as a “bearer of brotherhood and social harmony” and not just as a spectator, as he inaugurated the maiden edition of the Sikh Cricket Premier League here.
The tournament has been organized by the All J&K Sikh Coordination Committee.
Addressing the gathering, the Lt Governor as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) described the league as a “commendable initiative” that extends beyond the realm of sports to deliver a powerful social message. He urged the participating players to embrace discipline and teamwork.
“I spoke to the players about training with ferocious discipline and competing with unbreakable unity, both on and off the ground,” Sinha said.
He lauded the tournament, stating it serves as a declaration that the youth are at the forefront of fostering communal harmony in the region.
Members of the Sikh community and young cricketers from across the Union Territory attended the opening ceremony. (KNS)
