No proposal for providing monthly aid to women-led EWS families: Govt
Jammu, Feb 6: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday said there is no proposal under its consideration to provide a monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to female heads of households belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
The reply was given by the Social Welfare Department in the Legislative Assembly to a question raised by Legislator Mir Mohammad Fayaz.
The legislator had asked, “Whether it contemplates to provide Rs. 5000/- per month as financial assistance to female heads of EWS households; if so, the eligibility criteria fixed in this behalf?”
In a written response, the department stated, “There is no such proposal under consideration in the Social Welfare Department.” The reply was signed by the Minister In-Charge of Social Welfare. (KNS)
