Two PDD employees killed, two injured in road mishap at Poonch

Poonch: Two employees of the Power Development Department (PDD) lost their lives, while two persons sustained injuries in a road accident at Jandrola in the Mandi area of Poonch district on Saturday.
Officials said that a vehicle met with an accident near Jandrola, Mandi, resulting in the on-spot death of two persons and injuries to others travelling in the vehicle.
The deceased were identified as Kulbir Singh and Chitinderpal Singh alias Sanju, residents of Kamsar village in Tehsil Haveli, Poonch. Both were working with the PDD, they said.
Soon after the accident, locals along with police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured, along with the bodies, to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
A case has been registered, and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the cause of the accident.
Confirming the casualties, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr P A Khan, said the injured duo are undergoing treatment. (GNS)
