Police arrests drug peddler in Pulwama
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a police party intercepted a suspicious person during naka at Newa. During search, 1.120 Kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Khaliq Wani resident of Ghat Tokna. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 04/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
