Police arrests drug peddler in Shopian
Srinagar: Police in Shopian arrested a drug peddler and recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at New colony Keegam arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh resident of Audoora Rampathri. During search, charas like substance weighing approximately 8.800Kgs were recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 274/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation has been initiated to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused person and to unearth the broader network involved in the trade.
