Police conduct extensive market checking drive in Kupwara
Srinagar: Police in Kupwara conducted an extensive market checking drive across various busy market areas of the district, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that the drive was aimed at ensuring strict compliance with law, maintaining public order, and safeguarding consumer interests.
During the checking, police teams inspected medical shops, poultry outlets, general stores and other commercial establishments. Records, licences, stock registers, and quality standards were thoroughly verified. Shopkeepers and traders were sensitized about adhering to legal provisions, hygiene norms, and fair trade practices, he added.
