1,500 Saplings to Transform PM Shiri GSS Laharwalpora
School, Social Forestry Division Launch Mega Plantation Drive
Bandipora: PM Shiri Government Secondary School Laharwalpora Bandipora, in collaboration with the Social Forestry Division Bandipora, launched a major plantation drive within the school premises today. As part of the initiative, 1,500 saplings will be planted in and around the school grounds.
Headmaster Javid Jawad inaugurated the drive by planting the first sapling. Soon after, students—both boys and girls—enthusiastically joined their teachers and officials from the Social Forestry Division in the plantation activity.
The campaign aims to safeguard the fragile environment, which continues to suffer due to societal negligence and lack of awareness. The plantation is also expected to enhance the natural beauty of the school, located on the picturesque banks of the world-famous Wular Lake.
Students and teachers expressed their gratitude to the Social Forestry Division for responding to the school’s request and providing the plants for this meaningful and timely initiative.
The school administration affirmed that such efforts will continue to instill environmental consciousness among young learners and contribute to a greener, healthier future.
