Police arrests drug peddler in Anantnag
Srinagar: Police arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that a police team apprehended a suspected drug peddler during routine checking. During search, 1.3Kgs of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Owais Hassan Allie son of Ghulam Hassan Allie resident of Naina G.B. Khalil.
The contraband has been seized, and the accused has been taken into custody. In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the forward and backward linkages of the drug trade, the spokesman added.
