Police apprehend two offenders evading arrest

Srinagar: Police in Pulwama arrested two individuals who had been evading the law for prolonged periods, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that acting on specific inputs, Police arrested Nazir Ahmad Dar @ Rustum son of Abdul Salam Dar resident of Katibugh Kakpora. He had been declared a proclaimed offender by the court of JMIC Pulwama in a case under the Negotiable Instruments Act. After remaining at large for an extended period, he was apprehended and produced before the Court.
In another action, Police in Rajpora apprehended Shabir Ahmad Gorsi son of Balya Gorsi resident of Zampathri Keller, Shopian. He was wanted in FIR No. 31/1996 under Sections 7/25 Arms Act and had been absconding for nearly 25 years. After his arrest, he too was produced before the court as per legal procedure.
