Boy killed, 5 injured as India, Pak trade fire in Poonch

A 10-year old boy was killed and five other civilians were injured when Pakistani and Indian armies exchanged fire in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the reports, Pakistan forces fired at Indian positions in Kerni And Malti areas in Poonch district. Police sources said heavy shelling and firing started between the two armies in Kerni area.

“After the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions, Indian military retaliated strongly and effectively. Shelling and firing exchanges are going on,” a source told a news gathering agency.

The deceased was identified as Irfan Ahmad. More details are awaited.
