KCCI delegation, others call on Lt Guv

SRINAGAR: A delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), led by its President, Javid Ahmad Tenga, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday, an official spokesman said.
The delegation comprised of newly elected office bearers and executive committee members of KCCI put forth various issues related to the promotion of tourism, industries and trade-related activities in the region.
They also apprised the Lieutenant Governor of the various upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing Kashmir’s visibility as a preferred tourist destination.
Later, the Lieutenant Governor met the outstanding sportspersons of Delhi Public School Srinagar at Raj Bhawan.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the students for their exceptional achievements in both national and international sports competitions. He also conveyed his best wishes for their upcoming games and future endeavours.
The delegation of students includes Hurriyah Showkat, Samma and Mysha Bilal Kanth (Silver medalists at 3rd Junior Asian Pencak Silat Championship), Zaid Ali (69th National School Games -Football), and winning team of Inter-DPS Football Tournament (Boys Open, Zone 1). They were accompanied by Monisa Khursheed, Vice-Principal and Mudasir Bashir, Sports Secretary, Delhi Public School Srinagar.
Earlier in the day, G M Saroori, former Minister also called on the Lieutenant Governor.
Besides, Irfan Manhas, Vice Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Shopian, also called on Lieutenant Governor and apprised him of various development issues of Shopian district.
