Police arrests three drug peddlers in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam arrested three drug peddlers and recovered substantial quantity of contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a special police party was conducting routine patrolling at Baghi Sakloo, Mirbazar. During checking, a police party intercepted and apprehended three suspicious individuals.
On their personal search, police recovered 80 grams of charas and 2.7 kilograms of wet cannabis leaves from their possession. They have been identified as Zahid Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Bonpora Nambal, Anantnag, Aidal Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Iqbal Wani, resident of Khandaypora Krangsoo, Anantnag and Razwan Ahmad Itoo, son of Nazir Ahmad Itoo, resident of Hangalpahlo, Pahalgam, Anantnag.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 201/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
