Police arrests three gamblers in Awantipora
Srinagar: Acting tough against the social crimes, police in Awantipora arrested three gamblers in Khrew and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in Khrew area, a police party raided the specific spot and arrested three gamblers. They have been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Ahmad Shah resident of Panthachowk Srinagar, Showkat Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie resident of Dangarpora Nowgam Srinagar and Manzoor Ahmad Guroo son of Mohammad Sultan Guroo resident of Sambarbugh Nowgam Srinagar.
Officers have seized stake money of ₹25,630/- and playing cards from their possession, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 71/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been initiated, he said.
