Series of activities continue on day-3 of Sewa Parv 2025 across Bandipora
BANDIPORA: On day 3rd of Sewa Parv 2025, a series of activities were organised across Bandipora district by various departments and institutions to promote community service, cleanliness, social responsibility, and public awareness.
At GDC Hajin, NCC and NSS units launched a donation drive aimed at collecting essential items for underprivileged sections of society. The initiative witnessed active participation of students, faculty, and volunteers who mobilised contributions and spread awareness about helping the needy.
In Gurez, a large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted under the leadership of SDM Gurez and ZEO Gurez, with participation from the Social Welfare department, tehsil staff, and other officials. The activity highlighted the importance of maintaining hygiene in public offices and surroundings.
Municipal Committee Sumbal carried out a series of activities, including market cleanliness drives, a plog run at CHC Sumbal, CT/PT sanitation drives, and the distribution of cloth bags to reduce single-use plastic. Awareness campaigns on waste segregation and PM SVANidhi were also conducted to engage citizens at the grassroots.
Likewise, PHE sub-division Sumbal organised awareness and cleanliness drives at water supply schemes, emphasising source-level waste management.
Municipal Council Bandipora undertook cleanliness drives at the Main Market near SBI and Hashmi Chowk, along with a door-to-door plastic collection campaign. Awareness drives also extended to ITI College Bandipora, ensuring wide student and community involvement.
Meanwhile, MC Hajin organised a PM SVANidhi awareness camp and sanitation activities against Single-Use Plastic at Govt. ITI Bandipora, while a door-to-door awareness drive was carried out in Ward No. 02 Bandipora in collaboration with Swachhta Ambassadors of HKM Degree College.
Additionally, several workshops and awareness sessions on fire safety, earthquake preparedness, and disaster management were held across educational institutions in the district, sensitising students about essential safety measures and resilience practices.
GDC Sumbal, in collaboration with the Municipal Committee, conducted activities under Sewa Parv including donation of chairs to a middle school, campus plantation and beautification, launch of the ‘Catch Them Young’ initiative, and an orientation programme highlighting the aims of Seva Parv.
The day-long initiatives under Sewa Parv 2025 highlighted the spirit of collective responsibility, with communities, institutions, and government bodies working together for a cleaner, safer, and socially responsible Bandipora.
