New Delhi, Aug 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to introduce a series of important Bills in Parliament, including amendments to the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.

Shah will move for leave to introduce the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2025, aimed at further updating the law governing Union Territories. He will also present the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2025, seeking changes in the 2019 Act.

In addition, the Home Minister will move a motion that the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, along with the two amendment Bills, be referred to a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament.

The Committee will comprise twenty-one Members from the Lok Sabha, to be nominated by the Speaker, and other Members from the Rajya Sabha.
