Srinagar: As part of its sustained efforts to ensure the highest standards of safety and security for pilgrims of the Amarnath Yatra, Police in Ganderbal, in coordination with CRPF conducted a comprehensive Mock Drill at Transit Camp Manigam, a police spokesman said Thursday.
The meticulously planned drill was aimed at testing preparedness and response mechanisms to various potential emergency scenarios, including fidayeen (suicide) terror attacks, mass evacuations, and coordinated rescue operations. The exercise focused on vulnerable and strategically important locations, where prompt and effective response is vital in case of any untoward incident.
Particular emphasis was placed on improving real-time communication, enhancing inter-agency coordination, ensuring optimal resource utilization, and strict adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The drill was conducted under the close supervision of senior officers from the Police and other security agencies, who oversaw every stage of the operation, assessed operational efficiency, and provided valuable feedback to further strengthen ground-level capabilities.
Through such initiatives, police reaffirms its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and providing a secure environment for devotees throughout the Yatra period, thereby enabling a spiritually enriching and safe pilgrimage experience.
