Dead body of student drowned three days back recovered

Sopore :The dead body of a 16- years old boy, Bilal Ahmad Parray, son of Abdul Jabbar Parray, resident of Kiterdhaji, Dangiwacha, Rafiabad was recovered Saturday from the River Jhelum near Jamia bridge Sopore after sustained search efforts of SDRF, Marcos and local fishermen, officials said.
Bilal, a student of Darul Uloom Jamia Islamia Maharajpora had drowned while taking bath in the river on June 26.
Soon after the incident, a joint operation was launched immediately by Sopore Police in coordination with SDRF, MARCOS, local boatmen, and volunteers. The combined efforts of all involved over the last three days led to the recovery of the body, they said.
The mortal remains were shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to family for last rites.
Meanwhile, Sopore Police extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and acknowledges with gratitude the tireless efforts of SDRF, MARCOS, local fishermen, and volunteer groups of Sopore who stood shoulder to shoulder during the operation.
