Health is wealth

Jammu and Kashmir is one such region which has to bear many seasons round the year. We face severe winter chill with many districts witnessing huge snowfall and we witness hot, humid and dry weather conditions during the summer.
This seasonal variation leaves us grappling most of the time with the vagaries of the weather and as a result we face issues while managing our well-being owing to our low or restricted mobility.
Since the weather plays an important part in our lives our majority of the physical activities are governed by the weather patterns. During winters we tend to adopt a sedentary lifestyle which results in people gaining weight and in summers our mobility is hit by extreme weather conditions like the one we are experiencing currently.
In such a scenario our health takes a hit and this being the reason that people in Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Valley face lot of health issues. Kashmir not only has emerged as a medicine consuming hub but the flow of patients to hospitals and other healthcare institutions is increasing day by day.
Health as we all know is indeed a vital aspect of human life, and prioritizing it can have numerous benefits for individuals, communities and societies as a whole.
Once we take care of our health and we remain fit we enable ourselves to lead fulfilling lives, pursue our passions besides, maintain strong relationships. Good health always keeps people in a cheerful mood and as such the individuals in the society tend to be more productive, efficient, and contribute positively to their workplaces and communities.
Good health also ensures that we spend least on maintaining ourselves and the costs incurred on preventive care also record a decline increasing the financial well-being of families as well.
Health benefits are immense and once we realise to be healthy and fit we can contribute more positively towards the society. Even our mental well-being is affected to the extent that a health person can help mitigate stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
In a place like our the health concerns need to be addressed on priority as various illnesses like Diabetes, hypertension and the most dreaded disease-Cancer is taking a huge toll on us.
Our religious leaders, and those who wield power and authority need to come forward and advise and inform the people on adopting ways to prioritize health. The government too needs to spread awareness about being healthy and stress on making people aware about adopting healthy eating habits.
Besides, regular exercising and physical activities also need to be made a priority among the people. The government has already put a huge thrust on creating recreational points, public and jogging parks, open gymnasiums and other facilities so that people tend to visit them and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
