Police arrests drug peddler in Kupwara
Srinagar: Police in Kupwara arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Gonipora Haihama, arrested a drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmed Khan son of Momin Khan resident of Gonipora Haihama Kupwara.
During search, substantial quantity of Heroine-like substance was recovered from his possession. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the accused was engaged in illicit drug trafficking.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
