Tourism department in Tangmarg conducts inspection of shops

Tangmarg: Consequent upon the orders issued by the Assistant Director Tourism, Gulmarg, regarding the regulation and closure of unauthorized coat and boot rental shop service providers, a field inspection was carried out by the Flying Squad Team, assisted by the In-Charge Tourist Assistance Group (TAG) and In-Charge Tourist Police Group, a statement issued here on Tuesday said.
The team conducted a detailed inspection of various coat and boot rental shops operating in the Tangmarg area and emphasized the ethos and objectives of the directive. A number of unregistered and non-compliant shops were ordered to shut down immediately, pending their adherence to the terms and conditions laid out in the directive issued by the department.
To ensure sustained compliance, it has been decided that such enforcement drives will continue in the coming days, including surprise inspections. The SSP Enforcement and Tourist Police authorities have been requested by the Assistant Director Tourism, Gulmarg, for the deployment of additional TAG and Tourist Police personnel to strengthen the enforcement and ensure effective on-ground implementation.
The order has been widely welcomed by the public and stakeholders, acknowledging that it serves the larger interest of the tourism industry and contributes to the streamlining of tourist trade practices within the jurisdiction.
