Retinaad Tral village struggles without road connectivity, residents seek CM’s intervention
Pulwama: The residents of Retinaad Aripal in Tral, Pulwama, have expressed their displeasure over the lack of road connectivity in their area, urging the administration to take immediate action.
Locals said that the absence of roads has made their daily lives difficult, especially in transporting goods and accessing essential services.
They have called on the government to include their area under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to improve connectivity.
The lack of proper roads has also contributed to economic hardships, as residents struggle to transport goods efficiently.
“We face immense difficulties, particularly in winters, when we need to procure ration and other essentials from neighboring areas,” Farooq Ahmad a local resident said.
Health emergencies have also been a major concern, with villagers stating that patients often have to travel long distances to reach medical facilities.
“Several pregnant women have lost their lives due to the absence of proper healthcare and road access,” they lamented.
Despite repeated appeals to officials over the past two decades, no progress has been made. “We have visited every office possible, yet our pleas remain unheard,” said Lateef Khan, another local resident.
The villagers highlighted that even carrying patients on carts is difficult due to the narrow pathways, making emergency medical assistance nearly impossible.
Frustrated by government inaction, residents accused successive administrations of ignoring their plight. However, they remain hopeful that the present administration will address their concerns.
They have now urged CM Omar Abdullah and MLA Tral Rafi Ahmad Naik to personally intervene and ensure the construction of a road that connects their village to the nearest accessible area, alleviating their struggles.
