The resident of Pulwama town and its adjacent areas said that e-bus services have been started in different areas of the Kashmir but Pulwama has been left out.
They said that the government has started e-bus services in almost every corner of Kashmir and even in Khrew and Pampore areas have got these facilities, but the main Pulwama town has been ignored.
Rayees Ahmad Lone, a local resident said in absence of proper public transport facilities in the area, poor people have been left to revert to the old modes of transportation.
He said that sumo facilities are available but there are many people who are unable to afford the fare of sumos and e-bus services are options available for them.
Saqib Ahmad, another local resident said that a large number of people from the area including employees and students have to go to Srinagar for jobs or education, but in absence of cheaper transport services they are facing many difficulties.
He said that patients and elderly people are also suffering in the absence of proper transport services in the area.
Locals said that they have already brought the issue into the notice of concerned authorities who assured them that services will be started soon but nothing has been done as of now.
They requested MLA Pulwama and DC Pulwama to look into the matter and take steps so that the area will get better transport services and people won’t have to suffer any further.
